4A Week 8 Recap/ Rankings

<p>Sorry for the late rankings this week, changing up the format from now on out! Instead of two parts we will be doing one recap/rankings per week. Here are our current top 10 4A teams.</p> <p><strong>10. Thomas Jefferson</strong></p> <p>Thomas Jefferson is an athletic bunch who was been playing well recently, with some big wins and close losses to top teams. Recently shooter <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/ryan-moe/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/ryan-moe/">Ryan Moe</a></a> </strong>has stepped up averaging 19 points in the last three games. They are being led by senior <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/darius-hornbuckle/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/darius-hornbuckle/">Darius Hornbuckle</a></a> </strong>who is averaging 16.7 points per game. This team does not have any games this week but some before the season ends.</p> <p><strong>9. Pueblo East</strong></p> <p>Pueblo East is a team who had a bit of a rocky start to the season but has been looking better as of late. This team is being led by <strong>Darnell Kindred </strong>who is averaging 17.2 points per game. This team is an athletic bunch and with their football players back in the rotation they are looking good. They have a big match up against Pueblo West after weather postponed the game and have a big game coming up against Pueblo Central.</p> <p><strong>8. Golden</strong></p> <p>Golden has had one of the toughest schedules in 4A, having some tough losses, but some very good wins as well. This team has a notable senior duo in <strong>Kevin Mulligan </strong>and <strong>Ben Mclaughlin </strong>who are both good scorers. Then an impressive freshman, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/alan-acevedo/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/alan-acevedo/">Alan Acevedo</a></a>,</strong> who is the best athlete on the team, he is quick and uses his frame to get buckets against smaller defenders. They have a rivalry game coming up this week when they play Evergreen. </p> <p><strong>7. Green Mountain</strong></p> <p>Green Mountain has had four losses and three were very close. Recently for this team, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/blake-schell/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/blake-schell/">Blake Schell</a></a> </strong>has been on a hot streak dropping 22 points in his last two games. This team has a good challenge when they play an up and down team in D'Evelyn, who can beat some tough teams.</p> <p><strong>6. Pueblo West</strong></p> <p>Pueblo West dropped out of the top five because of a loss to Pueblo Central. This team has one of the best student athletes in the state, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/taylor-harris/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/taylor-harris/">Taylor Harris</a></a>, </strong>who kills it on the hardwood and in the classroom. This team has a big match up against Pueblo East coming up.</p> <p><strong>5. Harrison</strong></p> <p>Harrison has one of the best records in 4A but not as tough of schedules as teams ranked above them. This team was looking for another player to step up and help out <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/donta-dawson/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/donta-dawson/">Donta Dawson</a></a>; </strong>the player who is looking to take that role is <strong>Tayzean Archuleta </strong>who scored 20 points in each game last week. They have a decent match up when they play Canon City. </p> <p><strong>4. Longmont</strong></p> <p>Longmont is coming off of a tough loss against a good Silver Creek team but is still one of the top 4A teams in the state. This team has very good height with 6'8 <strong>Eddie Kurjak </strong>and 6'5 <strong>Dallas Dye. </strong>These guys fill up the rebounding column and the scoring column. They have a decent match up this week when they play an up and down Niwot team.</p> <p><strong>3. Northfield </strong></p> <p>Northfield is coming hot off of a big win against George Washington. Senior <strong>Nsyah Bolar </strong>is leading this team with his presence down low he makes an impact on defense and offense. Recently they have added another great guard, <strong>Travier Craddock, </strong>who is a slasher who can finish well at the rim. This team has a challenging match up this week when they play Lincoln. </p> <p><strong>2. Mead</strong></p> <p>It is very easy to argue that Mead is the number one team in 4A, not losing a game since the first game of the season. This team has one of the deepest and most exciting teams in the state. With size down low from <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/james-shiers/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/james-shiers/">James Shiers</a></a></strong> and <strong>Will Tenore</strong>, shooters from the outside with <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/elijah-knudsen/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/elijah-knudsen/">Elijah Knudsen</a></a>, Will Maeher, </strong>and <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/nick-jacobs/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/nick-jacobs/">Nick Jacobs</a></a>, </strong>and athleticism from <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/trey-mead/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/trey-mead/">Trey Ward</a></a> </strong>and <strong>Jacob Bartholomew, </strong>this team is showing that they are built for a championship run. This team has a good match up when they play Frederick this week. </p> <p><strong>1. Cheyenne Mountain</strong></p> <p>Cheyenne Mountain remains one of the few undefeated teams in the state, which is impressive at any level. Senior, <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/javonte-johnson/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/javonte-johnson/">Javonte Johnson</a></a>, </strong>is the leader on this but has had a teammate step up to help them get some big wins. That teammate is <strong>Jaedon Harrison, </strong>who is an athletic wing who was had some highlight dunks recently! This team is also missing <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/wade-jones/"><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/wade-jones/">Wade Jones</a></a> </strong>who once he returns this team will have three solid scorers to go to. This team does not have any big match ups coming up.</p>
