One of the top unsigned senior forwards in the state of Minnesota is Blake Remme of Spring Lake Park. The 6-foot-5, 6-foot-6 Remme has the Panthers at 9-2 on the season.
With recent wins over Osseo and Delano, the Panthers are defeating good teams plus their loss to Totino-Grace was by two scores.
“The season is going good,” Remme said. “We are playing aggressive defensively and moving the ball well on offense and getting easy buckets.”
Blake, Minnesota State-Moorhead signed Gabe Myren, and Daydor Philips have been playing together for multiple seasons and have developed the type of chemistry to be 9-2.
“We have a great bond in the game, we always know where each other are on the court,” Remme said. “Also we have played together since 5th grade so we have grown chemistry all the way up though school.”
Coach Grant Guzy of the Panthers speaks highly of his seniors.
“(The) guys love the game of basketball and are true gym rats,” Guzy said. “They have worked extremely hard over their four years at SLPHS to improve their games. They love the open court and are a big part of our pressing, up tempo game. They are great kids, do well in the classroom, and are positive role models for our younger players.
“Blake is a scorer with a scorer’s mentality. He kept us in the Totino-Grace game with 30 points in the second half of that game. He can hit the three and get to the basket and finish both on the break and in our half court offense. He can also hit the open man and has improved his game on the defensive end and on the glass.”
Remme is averaging 19.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 steals, and a block a game shooting 37.7 percent from three and 46.7 percent overall. His goals for himself, and for his team are high.
“My goals as an individual is to average at least 20 and 10 and to be a monster on both sides of the court, offense and defense,” Blakse explained. Some of my team goals are to make it to the section finals, win 18 plus games, and to just play lockdown defense every game.”
Another thing item facing Blake is his college basketball decision. Where he will play at the next level.
“I’m hearing from a lot of NCIS schools and I’ve visited Drake in the recent past. I’m just looking for a school that will fit me the best and a program that improves my game the most.”
