It was a busy week of basketball action over the holiday season! Let’s now examine the superlatives from the events that we attended. Here are our Holiday Tournament: Small College Gems!

Chase Monkemeyer (St. Charles East)

Monkemeyer is a tough and physical forward that is a plus shooter from three. Has a lot of intangibles that project well toward the small college level.

Matthew Kaznikov (Stevenson)

Kaznikov proved his ability to score as well as do all the little things that he usually brings to the table in Stevenson’s opening round win at Hinsdale Central.

Everett Stubblefield (Willowbrook)

Stubblefield is a small scoring guard that can put up points in a hurry! Did just that with a huge scoring outburst in their first round game.

Elijah Watson (TF South)

Watson is a face up four man that is efficient around the hoop and brings plus athleticism to the table at the small college level.

Albert Jones (Richards)

Jones is your classic junk yard dog undersized post. He makes up for his lack of ideal height with his toughness and physicality.

Josh Preston (Geneva)

Preston has already committed to the University of Chicago and will make an impact there with his athleticism and strength as a face up four.

Kayman Hopkins (Fremd)

Hopkins is a bouncy four man that is quick to the offensive glass. Without question would be an excellent small college player.

Tommy Ferriter (Lockport)

Ferriter is a scoring wing that brings a good frame and solid skill level to the table.

Adnan Sarancic (Warren)

Strong bodied four man that is efficient around the cup and rebounds well for his size.

Elijah Pickens (Curie)

Pickens is a pest on the defensive end. Offensively he gets Curie into their sets and can score on occasion.

Ryan Weir (Pontiac)

Weir is an undersized four man that is the ideal small college big man with his productivity and feel scoring.

Cawhan Smith (Collinsville)

Smith is a quick lead guard that pushes it in the open floor, makes others better, and hits open shots.

Finn Walsh (St. Laurence)

Walsh is a speedy point guard that loves to get out in the open floor and is an adequate three point shooter.

Grant Niego (Lyons)

Niego can flat out play! The point guard has gotten stronger and is a sound marksman from deep!

Conor Glennon (Brother Rice)

Gritty point guard that is the ultimate leader at the point. He gets others involved with his passing.

Garrett Horner (Wheaton North)

Horner can really shoot it from three. That was on full display at Jack Tosh with his three point barrage off the catch!

Robert Nocek (Wheaton St. Francis)

Undersized four man that hits the offensive glass and understands angles in the post.
