3A Week 5 Recap/ Rankings

<p>after week five there have been some big games and changes in our rankings. Here is a look at our top five teams from 3A.</p> <p><strong>5. Universtiy</strong></p> <p>University is a surprising team this year only loosing one game so far this season. They are being led by one of the best sophomores in the state, <strong>Tayt Chacon, </strong>who is averaging 19.9 points per game this year. As a sophomore he is already making a name for himself as one of the top players in 3A. They have a big match up this week when they face off against the number one team Resurrection Christian and another 9-1 team, Eaton.</p> <p><strong>4. Sterling</strong></p> <p>This Sterling team has built a culture of winning that has put them up at our number four spot. This team has only lost one game which came from an out of state team and have beat other top 3A teams such as Faith Christian and Manual. They have two seniors leading the way, <strong>Brock Shalla </strong>and <strong>Alex Henry, </strong>who are each averaging over 17 points per game. They also have a star sophomore at point guard, <strong>Jackson Keil, </strong>who is averaging 11.2 points and 2.7 assists per game. They only have one game this week but a few tough league play games on the way. </p> <p><strong>3. Lutheran</strong></p> <p>Lutheran this year has two losses to two very good teams one being an out of state team and another being the number one 3A team, Resurrection Christian. This team is being led by one of the best freshmen  in the nation, <strong>Baye Fall, </strong>who is averaging 26 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game. They also have another big man, <strong>Mamadou Sow, </strong>who can move smaller players to get some buckets and rebounds. They also have one of the best point guards in the class of 2021, <strong>Tommy Apodaca, </strong>who is averaging 12.1 points and 8 assist per game. This team is really good, and are most likely looking for a rematch against Resurrection Christian at DU in March.</p> <p><strong>2. The Vanguard </strong><b>School</b></p> <p>The Vanguard School has come off of some big wins recently beating a top 4A team, Northfield, and a very good Saint Mary's. This team has arguably the best player in the state, CU commit <strong>Dominque Clifford, </strong>who is leading the state and is 5th in rebounding with 13.3 per game. Dominque showed how good of a teammate he is when they played Northfield, he did not force any bad shots and found open teammates the whole game. Then his teammate <strong>Joseph Padilla </strong>is adding 16.6 points and 4.3 assists per game. They have a decent Buena Vista team this week.</p> <p><b>1. Resurrection Christian</b></p> <p>This Resurrection Christian team has some big wins under their belt: Pueblo West, Saint Mary's, and Lutheran. They are being led by the senior duo, <strong>Reece Johnson </strong>and <strong>Isaac Jessup, </strong>who are both averaging above 16 points per game. They also have senior point guard <strong>Jackson Ramero </strong>who is crafty guard, who can shoot from the outside. They have a big match up coming up against University this week, a good game to watch for my people up North. </p>
