Bergen Catholic is 2-0 on the young season and Brown has had a big hand in each win. He finished with 19 points in the Crusaders’ opening night win over Paterson Eastside. Against No. 12 St. Thomas Aquinas, Brown scored 23 points in an 11 point victory.
Brown is one of the sensational sophomores on Bergen Catholic this season. Will Richardson has turned into one of the leaders of the team early on. He scored a team high 29 points in their win over the Trojans in the Hoop Group NJ Tip Off Classic. This dynamic duo of sophomores is paired with senior standout Matt Zona. The Notre Dame commit is a double-double machine who is one of the top player in the state.
Richardson and Zona were key contributors a season ago but Brown can take this team to a new level. At 6’2, Brown is the total package. He has strong size at the guard position which allows him to finish in traffic. Brown has hit three shots from behind the arc in Bergen Catholic’s first two games. He does most of his work inside using his incredible ball handling skills and soft touch. When it comes playoff time, Brown will be a key contributor as the Crusaders’ look to return to the TOC finals.
Brown will have offers pouring in if he continues on the path he is on. There is no doubt that he has the ability to play at a high level and now he will just have to show it night in and night out. It helps that he is on one of the best teams in the state. Brown and the Crusaders will be must watch every time they take the floor.
