Terry Sanford HS Senior Guard Quay McMillian: He’s a new addition to the team this year but he seems to fit right in and had a solid overall showing for them. He shot the ball well from the perimeter and does a nice job of breaking down his defender with a wide variety of moves.
Pine Forest HS Senior Guard Marquis Eskew: Although his team struggled in their semi-final matchup he was one of the bright spots for the team, providing a ton of offense. The combination of upper body strength, athletic ability and knock down shooting from midrange was all on display as he finished with 25 points on the night. College coaches should be keeping a close eye on him over the season as he is still under the radar for many.
Southern Lee HS Senior Guard Sevion Clay: This was our 2nd time seeing him play and after the first showing at Southern Lee Jamboree, one of the attributes that stood out to us was the scoring ability he has and we were excited to see him again this weekend. However he showed some other aspects of his game this weekend, not only scoring but also defending at a solid level.
Hoggard HS Senior Guard Sabastian Haidera: We were impressed with how aggressive he was from start to finish, he was constantly attacking defenders with a variety of moves to score and draw fouls. College programs have shown interest and rightfully so, his ability to score on and off the ball is something that makes him a nice prospect overall.
Cape Fear HS Senior Wing Chase Dawkins: If you’re looking for a sharp shooting wingman for next season, he will be the guy to keep an eye on for sure. His three point shooting ability is always on display as he does a nice job of setting his feet and getting his shot off. He doesn’t try go outside himself and do too much but instead plays to his strengths which only helps his team.
