Wisconsin Rap Varsity Scrimmage Standouts

NEW BERLIN -- Standouts from Sunday's varsity scrimmage presented by Wisconsin Rap...

Richard Brantley - 2020 - PF - Pius XI

He's undersized (6-3), but Brantley makes up for it with his power and motor. A strong, athletic forward, Brantley is a physical player on both ends of the floor. Brantley did a great job of running hard in transition and making himself available for easy buckets. Brantley showed he can take a hit around the rim, able to finish even when he's put on the ground.

Micah Causey - 2022 - PG - St. Thomas More

If you're matched up with Causey 1-on-1, it probably feels like being lost on an island. The sophomore guard has some of the best handles in the state and is an absolute blur when he decides to dribble penetrate towards the rim. Causey has tremendous speed on the ball. Despite only being 5-foot-9, Causey is fearless in traffic and will make some rather difficult finishes look easy. If his jumper comes along, Causey is going to be a nightmare to defend as opposing players already have to give him a ton of space to account for his quickness.

Evan Glaser - 2020 - F - Appleton East

There's a big difference in Glaser from the spring to now. The Appleton East product just looks supremely confident in his ability to carry a team. He started to burst onto the scene at the Prep Hoops Top250 showcase where he was arguably the MVP of the entire event. The 6-foot-5 combo forward was very effective against the Kettle Moraine zone, getting into the teeth of the defense and scoring with either hand. Glaser is lanky and could use some added strength, but he's definitely not soft. He'll take the ball to the rim without hesitation and isn't fazed by a little contact.

Danilo Jovanovich - 2022 - F - Whitnall

You can just see this kid getting better and better. We recently bumped Jovanovich to No. 12 in our class of 2022 rankings and the Whitnall forward is likely still rising. He's about 6-foot-5, but Jovanovich isn't a huge tweener because of his length. Jovanovich flashed a very intriguing pull-up, face-up, and transition game, able to stretch the floor and handle the ball up the floor. While he's more of a mismatch problem out on the perimeter, Jovanovich has some interesting skills on the block that could make him one of the bigger mismatch problems in the state in a year or two.

Brandin Podziemski - 2021 - SG - SJNMA

Podziemski came out firing against Mukwonago and nearly put the game away in the opening minutes with 15 quick points. Developing into a Division 1 prospect after a huge summer up on the 17U level, Podziemski is playing with sky-high confidence, knowing the man across from him can't stop him. The scoring and shooting ability is exciting, but I'm more impressed by the effort and hustle. Podziemski is always moving, never stagnant when he's away from the ball. He's scrappier than he gets credit for and is willing to attack the offensive glass, chase down blocks from the weak side, and get on the floor for loose balls.

Greyson Pritzl - 2022 - SG - West Allis Central

We don't have Pritzl ranked right now, but definitely have him on the watch list after Sunday. The sophomore sniper has a lot of dog in him. Once he makes a shot, he likes to let the defender know about it. Pritzl hit a lot of timely 3-pointers throughout the day. The 6-foot-1 guard has a quick stroke and plenty of range. One of many young players for the Bulldogs this season, Pritzl gives WAC a floor spacer and should blend in well with all their athletes.

Jaquanis Rhodes - 2021 - PG - West Allis Central

Rhodes looks like he'll step in for Glen Martin and be the starting point guard for Central this season. A speedy, 5-foot-8 point guard, Rhodes can push the tempo and get coast-to-coast. Rhodes has very good handles and did a great job of facilitating on Sunday without committing any noticeable bad turnovers. A floor general that takes calculated risks, Rhodes often made the right basketball play.
