Conference Preview: South Suburban
<p>The high school season is almost here in the state of Illinois! With that we look at some of the top conferences throughout the state and some of the prospects in those conferences! Today it is the <strong>South Suburban</strong>!</p>

<p><strong>Preseason Player of Year</strong></p>
<p>Jayson Kent (Oak Forest)</p>
<p>Kent is a lights out perimeter shooter! The long and rangy two guard can fill it up from deep with the best of them. We fully expect him to do that as a senior for an up and coming Oak Forest program that will make noise this season.</p>

<p><strong>Preseason Conference Favorite</strong></p>
<p>Hillcrest is the favorite as usual in this conference. What you have to like about their squad this year is the extreme depth and that they will not rely on just one player. Julius Rollins is the highest rated prospect as the versatile 2021 combo forward really came into his own this summer. Hamahrie Bowers and Jakobi Heady also opened eyes with their play as slashing two way wings! A tough and competitive backcourt of Bucky Irving and Kenton Wright will run the show and set the tone defensively. Oak Forest will have more than just Kent as they also feature top 10 2022 Robbie Avila. The best prospect in the conference is the #1 sophomore in Illinois AJ Casey who moved to Tinley Park for his second year of high school ball after playing last season at Simeon.</p>
