Princeton HS 2023 Guard Aden Taylor: A younger player but has plenty of upside in his game, one attribute we noticed about him early on was his feel for the game. Throughout the day he made quite a few good passes and also showed that he can read defenders well.
Smithfield-Selma 2023 Jaquan Watson: Throughout drill work and through the games, he showed how good of a ball handler he already is. He doesn’t allow himself to get sped up and always keeps his eyes up which leads good passes and easy buckets for his team. We really liked the fact that he doesn’t shy away from big time moments at such as young age as he hit a game winning three point shot in one of the final games of the day.
Lee county High 2023 Guard Malachi Headen: Easily he was one of the smaller players on the court just about every game but he got after it on the defensive end of the floor. Has good lateral quickness and doesn’t try to cheat by reaching but instead works to beat his man to the spot as well as playing the passing lanes.
Neuse charter 2022 Wing Elias Ayers: We really like the potential that this youngster displayed, he has college level shooting range , moves well without the ball, and doesn’t make unnecessary moments which allows him to get his shot off quickly. You can tell he is a natural SG but at times he played the PG spot for his squad and was pretty solid, he’s definitely one to keep an eye on over the next few years.
Neuse Charter School 2022 Guard Jamir Ledbetter: Has a quick first step that he used to get to the spots that he wanted without much issue. Has plenty of the tools to be a good defender which includes a longer wingspan which allows him to come up with some deflections, we love how locked in he was on that end of the floor to help his squad.
Innovation Academy 2024 Guard Joshua Hicks: It’s always nice to see a younger player coming in and competing with guys that may be three to four years older than them to get some early experience. Hicks was one of the youngest players in the building but he didn’t allow that to stop him from playing with max effort and energy as well as mixing it with the big boys.
