Trey Fields, Pacers
2022 forward Trey Fields is peaking at the right time for the Pacers as fall league comes to a close. Fields had 14 points in their victory over the Heat to get to the semifinals. He’s done a little bit of everything in the last two games to keep things going for the Pacers. He’ll need to keep it up against the Cavaliers.
Dylan Gottuso, Pacers
2021 shooting guard Dylan Gottuso caught fire from 3-point land against the Heat . Gottuso put up 32 points and made four shots from 3-point range to give his team a boost in the scoring column. They’ll need more of that against a tough Cavaliers squad in the semifinals.
Will Felton, Cavaliers
Will Felton has been a model of consistency for the Cavaliers in their run to the fall league title. The fall league MVP will face off against a young Pacers squad in the semifinals. Felton posted 35 points, 25 rebounds and five blocks in their regular-season meeting that saw them win 119-72. He’ll be hard to stop once again for the Pacers.
Ben Hines, Cavaliers
Ben Hines has been a two-way terror for the Cavaliers this fall league season. Hines poured in 36 points on eight made 3-pointers while also forcing five steals and blocks in their big win last time. He’ll look for an encore performance in the semifinals this weekend.
Tanner Mikulecky, Spurs
2023 guard Tanner Mikulecky is finding his stride at the right time in the postseason. Mikulecky caught fire from 3-point land against the Warriors in the opening round of the playoffs, making five 3-pointers to the tune of 23 points in a big win. Now, they’re on a collision course to face the Cavaliers once again after falling to them in their final regular-season game.
Julien King, Spurs
Julien King is a 2022 point guard prospect with room to blossom in fall league. King is another young guard that’s learning how to make an impact on the floor. He put his stamp on the Warriors game with 21 points, showing off his ability to draw fouls and finish at the rim. First, he’ll need to keep it up against the Rockets.
Ayinde Taylor II, Rockets
2021 forward Ayinde Taylor II is a growing factor in the post with his strength and physicality. He posted 19 points, all in the paint in the Rockets victory 80-71 over the Nuggets. He’s a frontcourt player to keep an eye in their matchup against the Spurs.
Evan Ashe, Rockets
2022 guard Evan Ashe has been a consistent role player in the Rockets backcourt as the final weekend of fall league approaches. He put up 20 points in their victory over the Nuggets, showing off his ability to score on all three levels. He’ll be another young prospect to watch in the second playoff matchup of the day.
Predicting a Fall League Winner
The Cavaliers have lost just one game in regular-season play, but stranger things have happened in postseason play. They’re still the clear favorite to come out on top in the finals, but the Spurs are a team that should put up a bigger fight in the title game. The Pacers, though, aren’t a team to be taken lightly with a strong trio of Fields, Gottuso and Grady Bizyak.
The final weekend will begin at J.D. Lewis Center on Nov. 3 at 2:00 PM and will also feature an All-Star Game.
