It is a perfect time to revisit the Class of 2020 rankings and adjust to account for the player’s progression, regression, or stagnation.
If you want to look at the complete rankings, smash here. A previous list of four climbers is legible here.
Climbers are either players previously undervalued or more likely players that developed their game in the last six months.
These players represent lofty climbers (upward movement listed next to arrow on right of name).
#40 Kavon Blankenship ⇑82
Explosive two-guard that might mature into a point guard. Slasher. More consistent than he once was. Blankenship gets off the floor wonderfully. He landed in the top 40 because his first-step and bounce are just better than most of the top 100 players. He needs to incorporate more complex maneuvers at the next level, but he is certainly going to get that chance. Blankenship plays for Station Camp High School. He should easily earn All-District and All-Region honors.
#18 Will Pruitt ⇑60
Better than expected handle for this wonderful passer. Pruitt verbally committed to Lipscomb. The Bisons expertly identified the 6-foot-1 point guard earlier than most rival recruiters. Campbell was also ahead of the pack, but Pruitt elected to stay in middle Tennessee. Expect Mt. Juliet to have yet another strong season. For the third straight year they star Will Pruitt. Teammates likely to start include: Gage Wells, Riggs Abner. Though he will never be used in this role with Mt. Juliet, Pruitt shoots well enough to be a catch-and-shoot guy at some future date. His weaknesses are few and the concerns about lateral quickness were overstated by PrepHoopsTN. Further, he recognizes where the attacker intends to go and cuts them off wonderfully.
#50 Morrell Schramm ⇑113
Morrell entered his senior season with a @PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine All-Star Game MVP attached to his name. Schramm is a multi-faceted scoring guard. University of Alabama-Huntsville offered and will host him this week for an official visit. Schramm’s bounce and mid-range shooting make him an attractive recruit. One extra benefit to Schramm’s cilmb is his transfer from East Hamilton High School to Cleveland High School. Schramm will be tasked with scoring in bunches this upcoming season. He can and will lead the team in scoring any night JaCobi Wood or Grant Hurst do not.
#83 Jonathan Duncan ⇑56
From #139 all the way to #83 in the state, Jonathan Duncan soared with consistent improvement. Duncan played an important role with Class AA State Champion Wooddale during 2018-2019. He played in the Championship Game. Duncan is a popular player in Memphis, as evidenced by his inclusion on Whitehaven, Wooddale, Bluff City Legends, etc. Good teams want him around. He projects as a small college/junior college combo or point guard. Reliable shooter.
