This weekend that vicinity is Seattle, and the Prep Hoops Washington Expo. For most of these players, this will be my first opportunity to verify what I’ve seen on film. In this article PH takes a look at some of those players in the C/O 2020.
Luke Allen 6’2 SG Cedar Park Christian – Allen can shoot it. He shot nearly %40 from behind the arc last season. He has the ability to knock down shots in catch and shoot action, as well as off the dribble. Good shot preparation, great mechanics. Lead his C.P.C team in scoring last season with 15 a game. I know he can shoot the ball, interested to see if he can get by defenders off the bounce.
Pierce Darlington 6’6 PF Glacier Park – Darlington is intriguing. Coaches are always on the lookout for skilled wings. Darlington shows the ability to shoot it, and put it down and make a play for himself. A live look at Darlington is imperative. If he’s accurately sized and shows the mobility and footwork that he does on film, then we may have a prospect.
Bradley Graham 6’0 SG Federal Way (PHW #21) – Easiest evaluation ever. Shooters shoot, and Graham’s got a trigger. He plays with some of the best H.S players in the country on one of the state’s top teams. Simply want to see what type of player he is in a camp setting.
John Hart 6’2 SG Rainier Beach (PHW #23)– Hart is one of my national all sleeper guys. If you can shoot the ball coaches will find you. Hart played a brutal summer schedule on the EYBL and at the Fantastic 40. Simply want to see how he’s improved, and how competitive he is.
JC Humphrey 6’4 SG Tahoma – Humphrey’s film is interesting. Shows skills of a combo guard. Playmaking ability combined with knock down shooting. He’s a measurement play for me. Is he really 6’4? If he is and he can display the same off the dribble ability live, as on film, then I’m looking forward to a breakout Expo performance.
Dominque Michael 6’6 SF Nathan Hale (PHW #52) – Dominque Michael is a 6’6 wing that can put the ball on the floor and make a play. Good athlete with great quick twitch ability. Solid in traffic finisher. His Nathan Hale team won 3 games last season. I want to know why.
Kaleb Lichau 6’9 PF Peninsula (PHW #14)– Kaleb Lichau is going to be at our Expo! My guy Narz Martinez does an excellent job of digging out prospects in Washington. It came as no surprise to me that he’s ranked as a top 15 player in that state. Super skilled stretch 4. He shot %35 from 3 last season. He can put it on the ground, and is an above average athlete. Elite rim protector, who led the state of Washington in blocks. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s also a 3.9 student. He’s a clear scholarship athlete, I just want to figure out what level.
