With that being said, it’s important to have a nice amount of shooting or a three point specialist on your roster, so we take a look at a few of the better shooters that are under the radar in the state.
Word of God 2020 Guard Lance Anthony: He understands his role on the squad and plays it well, he moves without the ball and takes the open shot when the opportunity arises. We like the fact that he’s played in some big time games and atmospheres in his first few years of high school basketball.
Grace Christian 2020 Guard Phil Martin Jr: One of the better shooters in the area that will be on a new roster, Martin is a player that can really fill it up from downtown. The sharp shooting lefty has been known to drop a bunch of treys in a small amount of time and should have a big time season this year.
Hoggard Guard 2020 Sebastian Haidera: We got the chance to see him quite a bit over the summer with Flight 22 and look forward to seeing him produce this season. He plays the game with a confidence that you have to appreciate and he also has strong enough ballhandling skills to be able to slide over to the PG at times.
First Flight 2020 Guard Jordan High: He’s another one of the main contributors from the First Flight squad that had a nice season last year that should be back to do damage this year. He has nice size for a Guard and not only shoots it well from deep but also makes plays by putting the ball on the floor.
Parrot Academy 2021 Guard Nick Harrison: Averaging over 15 PPG last season on a squad that struggled, he will look to continue to produce at a high level while helping to lead his team to more wins. His ability to score the ball is something that we have seen since he was an 8th grader as he showed the ability to knock down a ton of shots from deep .
Gaston Day 2021 Guard Dean Hunter: We got the chance to see him early in the season last year and he was very impressive. He is definitely a shooter that doesn’t need much space to get his shot off and does not waste time with unnecessary dribbling.
