Following the transfer of Bryce Coppock to West Sioux, Neubaum is the league’s leading returning scorer and third leading rebounder. He’ll be the Titans best player for what should once again be the league’s best team.
First Team
2020 Zane Neubaum, South Central Calhoun (18.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals, 50.6 FG%)
Neubaum led the Titans, who went 21-2 last year, in scoring, tied for the lead in blocks, and finished second in rebounding and assists. An efficient forward who does a majority of his damage inside the arc, he’ll pace a South Central Cal team that should be fighting for a State berth in 2A.
2022 Aaron Graves, Southeast Valley (18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 50.3 FG%)
Before his sophomore season on the gridiron began, Graves had committed to play football at Iowa. He still has a long high school career ahead of him on the hardwood as well, where he was remarkably productive last season, leading all freshmen in scoring.
2021 Camden Schroeder, East Sac County (13.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals, 1.5 blocks, 50.2 FG%)
The 6-5 forward led the Raiders in scoring, rebounding and blocks last season, and with lots of senior scorers gone, he could see that scoring average pop up into the 18-20 point range this year.
2020 Aden Mahler, Newell-Fonda (10.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 50 3PM, 44.2 3P%)
Mahler was great playing alongside high-scoring guard Bryce Coppock last year, showing off his shooting ability by going 50-113 (44.2%) from the arc. With Coppock and his 28.2 points a game now at West Sioux, Mahler could have a huge senior season scoring the ball.
2020 Anthony Krier, Alta-Aurelia (11.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.4 steals)
Krier was productive last season for the perennially strong Warriors, finishing second in scoring and leading the team in assists. With three of their top four scorers gone, look for his scoring numbers to shoot up this year.
