After helping lead the Huskies to a (somewhat surprising) third place finish in 3A last year, the lefty guard is ready to dominate the RRC this year. A highly gifted scorer, he could rank among the top scorers in the state this year if he finds his shooting touch again (25.6 3P% last year).
First Team
2020 Easton Darling, Winterset (20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.6 steals)
A skilled lefty guard, Darling is not only the leading returnee in scoring, but also in steals. He’ll pace a Husky attack that should be among the best in 3A, and a real state title contender.
2021 Connor Drew, Ballard (17.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 blocks, 50.4 FG%)
The 6-6 forward burst onto the scene in a big way last year, averaging nearly a double-double for the Bombers, who also qualified for State. He pulled down nearly 50 more rebounds than any other player in the conference last year.
2021 Nate Mueller, ADM (15.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.6 steals, 53 3PM)
Mueller is the league’s leading returnee in made 3-pointers and assists. He led ADM in scoring, assists and steals last season, and is the focal point of a Tigers team that will push Winterset and Carroll at the top of the conference.
2020 Colby Vincent, Carroll (11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 49 3PM)
The 6-3 guard could see his numbers skyrocket if he can regain his shooting stroke. His 49 made 3s rank third among returnees, but he shot just 33.6% from the arc. He’s a better shooter than that.
2020 Karter Lein, Carroll (11.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals, 46 3PM, 44.2 3P%)
Lein finished just behind Vincent in made 3s last year, but was much more efficient at 44.2%. He led the Tigers in steals and ranked second in assists last year.
