The 5-11 guard was a stat sheet stuffer for the Vikings last year as the third member of a three-headed monster (Donnie Weis, Drake Johnson), leading the team in rebounding, assists, steals and blocks while shooting over 60% from the floor. With Weis and Johnson both gone, look for Peterson to post some eye-popping numbers this year.
First Team
2020 Tyler Peterson, Stanton (14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 3.4 steals, 1.3 blocks, 60.8 FG%)
With Donnie Weis and Drake Johnson’s 44 points a game gone, Peterson’s scoring numbers should explode this year, and he stuffs the stat sheet across the board for Stanton. A 5-11 guard who plays downhill, he’s primed for a massive senior year.
2020 Noah Jorgenson, Sidney (16.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals)
The leading returning scorer in the conference, Jorgenson will be the focal point of a Cowboys team that will be among the favorites in the league.
2020 Michael Schafer, East Mills (10.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.4 steals)
East Mills’ top two scorers from last year have graduated, leaving Schafer to take over the primary scoring role for a group that beat everyone in the league last year except for three losses to Stanton.
2020 Eli Owen, Fremont-Mills (10.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.9 steals)
A 5-6 senior guard, Owen finished second in the league in made 3-pointers last year, knocking down 43 of them.
2020 Colton Thornburg, Essex (10.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 3.8 steals)
Essex won just a single game last year, but Thornburg was productive across the board, leading the team in scoring, assists and steals. His 80 assists last year rank third among returnees, while his 67 steals rank second.
