FCS had an impressive season last year and looks like they will have a chance to compete for a conference championship as well as making some noise on the state level as well.
2021 Guard Kelton Battle: Every year since we began watching him, he has improved in one way or another and this year is no different. He’s clearly spent a nice amount of time in the weight room,as well as on the court, perfecting his craft as much as possible. We got the opportunity to see a bit of everything that he brings to the table throughout the day such as his: ball handling, shooting, passing, defensive pressure and even some of his leadership qualities.
2024 Guard Darris Simmons: Plenty of upside in this young man, he has a nice natural feel for the game and is an outstanding ball handler. He’s smaller in size of course but his skillset and upside are things that we are very excited about as he showed the ability to make plays against bigger and older opponents.
2022 Forward Joseph Amador: The upside he has is clear, legit height with the ability to shoot the ball and a good feel for the game. He’s changing his body physique wise which is only helping him to become more productive in multiple ways.
2021 Forward Javonnie Barker: He’s bouncing back from a serious injury but has a chance to be a nice prospect once he gets back to 100%. He has the size, shooting ability and overall potential to be one that colleges will be calling about. Rebounding and finishing inside will probably be where we see the most production from him early on but expect to see the ways that he contributes to grow as the year goes on.
2020 Forward Jaden Scriven: Currently nursing a slight hamstring injury, we saw him through the skills/drills portion of the day in which he still showed some burst of athleticism and perimeter shooting. 6’5 with a next level physique and continued growth in his game is what we feel will make Scriven one of those players that could see his recruitment boost more as the year goes on. Currently he holds offers from Lees Mcrae & Marion Military as well as interest from quite a few LM, D2 and JC programs.
2020 Forward Daunte Gardner: He’s about 6’2 but his energy, effort and quickness allows him to make an impact on the court at just about any position that you put him at. Throughout the day we saw him make plays from all three levels which is exactly what we saw from him last season, as he outplayed quite a few players who may have been bigger than he was.
Last but not least we have to recognize two guards that we saw put a ton of work in over the summer and have shown that hard work pays off!
Guard PG Tomas Stevens has lived in the gym and has improved in a nice way. His speed and strength that he displays with the ball in his hands are definitely things you have to like about him.
Guard Logan Hardin has also put in some hours in the gym this summer and it has shown. He has tweaked his shooting stroke a bit which will improve his percentage and seems to be playing the game with a nice amount of confidence overall.
