Rich Rolf (2022) 6’6 Centerville
Rolf impressed me especially considering he was coming off a torn meniscus last season that ended his season early. Playing inside-out, he made the right play at the right time. He always kept moving and found ways to get involved with the offense. He didn’t score a ton of points but when he did, he showed toughness and grit playing through contact and overall being a competitor.
Adam Chaney (2020) 6’4 Carrollton
When it comes to stock risers, I believe Adam was one of them. Chaney brought a certain physicality that impressed me as he made life difficult for whoever defended him. Showing off a quick midrange shot and also able to split the defense with ease, Chaney played a great offensive game and utilized his 6’4 frame to make life difficult for opposing defenses. Defense was another strong point as he did a nice job playing in help side position and showing awareness of the ball and his man.
Isaac Settles (2021) 6’6 Thomas Worthington
In my first time seeing Settles, he showed off his nice offensive game. Easily could have been included in my Top Slashers section, Settles dominated on the dribble drive and found himself scoring at the rim many times. Although he showed off some range beyond the arc, Settles seemed most comfortable when attacking from the perimeter. Combine him with point guard Jalen Sullinger and you have a very dangerous backcourt at Thomas Worthington this upcoming season.
Stephen Coleman Jr. (2021) 6’5 Toledo Rogers
Coleman showed his ability to score the ball from multiple levels throughout the day. At 6’5 he was difficult to contain due to his overall athleticism and fact he was able to get plenty of points on the dribble drive and had a size advantage most of the time. A transfer from Maumee Valley Country Day, Coleman will step into such a large role with Rogers this upcoming season.
T.J. Pugh (2021) 6’5 Shelby
I would argue the best offensive presence on display, Pugh showed he could score from multiple levels, but possessed more athleticism than other multi-level scorers that also participated. Specifically possessing a beautiful 3PT shot, Pugh can score from multiple levels and has a nice plethora of moves he uses to break down defenders on the perimeter.
