Broughton HS & NC Red Storm Guard DJ Thomas: One of the better players under 6 foot on the east coast, DJ put up some outstanding performances throughout the school year and with his AAU squad. He will be going the JUCO route as he has signed with Grayson College (TX) which should be a great opportunity to focus in on his craft and should only help his recruitment in two years.
James Kennan HS Guard Darryl McCaster: One of the better scorers in the state, he was a player that had picked up interest from D2 and D1 programs over the last year. After an impressive MVP performance at the Fab 40 Camp, his recruitment heated up some more and St. Andrews was one of the schools to jump on board. Playing at the NAIA level Darryl should see early success and don’t be surprised to see him as a player that is in the Rookie of the Year race.
Grace Christian School Forward Julian Steinfeld: The 6’10 forward hadn’t been in the states for a very long time but he was one of the leading rebounders in the state for his junior season. His recruitment didn’t go necessarily how he had wanted so he made the decision to return to Germany where he is looking to play professionally at some point.
WOGCA Guard Timothy Pettiford: NC Wesleyan is where Pettiford will play out the next four years of his basketball career. He played for an intense high school program at WOGCA and at some points this season, he was the starting guard for a team that played one of the tougher schedules in the state.
Freedom Christian Guard Brandon Murray: The sharpshooting Guard will be in the CIAA for the next four years and will be a player that should only see more time on the court as the year goes on. His ability to shoot the trey ball will be one attribute that his coach will love as he was one of the better shooters in the state.
St.Davids Guard Keonte Bradley made his decision to attend Lewis & Clark Community College which should only help him boost his recruitment. He had some moments throughout the season where he showed the type of potential he has which included a big time scoring performance against the team of a top ranked 2020 prospect.
