JD Davison looks poised to have a monster junior season. Austin Harvell looks 100% healthy and is ready to redeem that 4 star status. What will Tommy Murr do this season? Is Colby Jones the favorite right now? Who are the dark horses in the race?
Colby Jones (Mountain Brook)- The reigning EYBL Breakout POY is the Vegas favorite. Mountain Brook will play top teams from across the country, let alone the the state. The bright lights will be on Jones as he looks to lead the Spartans to another title.
JD Davison (Calhoun)- The ultra athletic guard is a ESPN Top 10 highlight waiting to happen. This kid stuffs the stat sheet and impacts the game on both ends of the floor. JD will win games for Calhoun and thats important.
Tommy Murr (Lindsey Lane)- The Nation’s leading scorer will have an opportunity to put up monster numbers again. This kid is special. He is the Bama hoops version of Jimmer Fredette. Murr is lightning in a bottle.
The Next Wave
Jalen Myers (Bob Jones)- Myers will be a matchup nightmare. Smaller players will struggle with his size and athleticism. Bigger players will struggle with his ball skill. Pick your poison… this kid will continue to elevate his play.
Kam Woods (Pinson Valley)- Woods is a well liked player across the state. He puts on a show every time he touches the floor. The point guard is electric and will be playing with a chip on his shoulder. The 2 time POY feels like he has something still to prove.
Rongie Gordon (Sidney Lanier)- If Gordon wants it, he can get it. The only person that can stop this athletic forward is himself. Gordon will stuff the stat sheets and be the major reason Sidney Lanier wins a ton of games this season.
2 Dark Horses
Austin Harvell (East Limestone)- Harvell is returning to form. We expect this kid to have a chip on his shoulder and show that he still is a 4 star caliber prospect. The 6’6 small forward has a well rounded game, and he will be the focal point of everyone’s scouting report.
Brody Peebles (Hartselle)- Peebles will turn a lot of heads this season. He was dominant for Pro One Select during the spring/summer. The 6’2 guard can score, rebound, defend, and make plays off the bounce. It is tough to bet against this kid.
