So it should be no surprise at the amount of talented guards and wings that were in the building and played well, here are a few that we were impressed with.
Hartsville HS C/O 2020 5’10 Guard Nathan Barr: One of the better shooters that we saw throughout the day, he was automatic from three point range, especially from the corner. He doesn’t take much time to get his shot off, and understands proper spacing on the court which doesn’t allow his defender to cheat off of him and help.
Fayetteville Christian C/O 2020 6’1 G/F Daunte Gardner: Plays the game with a nice motor, constantly crashing the boards and providing extra possessions for his squad. He’s about 6’1 but plays much bigger than his height suggest, he finished well inside the paint against bigger opponents but also showed the versatility to be able to defend guards.
Latta HS C/O 2021 6’2 G/F Trevon Miles: Has a nice feel for the game, for the most part he didn’t try to do things that were out of his comfort zone. He rebounded the ball well on both ends of the floor and is a player that you don’t have to run plays for as he uses clean up plays to create his offense. We would love to see him continue to extend his shooting range as it would only make him that much more dangerous of a player.
Rolesville HS C/O 2020 6’3 Wing Brandon Williams: Alot to like about what this young man can bring to the table, the first attribute that we noticed was his versatility. You can play him as a forward that stretches the defense or you can play him inside as an undersized big due to the fact that he can make up for any size in height with his motor and athletic ability.
Fairmont HS C/O 2020 6’3 Guard Dwayne Davis: He didn’t have his best performances on this occasion but you can see the potential and we are excited to see him this season. He’s a bigger guard that plays the game at his own pace, scores the ball at a solid rate and has good vision when he’s playing the playmaker role.
