These freshman and parents got to experience a great camp atmosphere with guest speakers from all aspects of basketball. There was a total of 50 student-athletes who participated.
This is the Iron in the Fire article that features some of the top prospects who stood out at the event.
Orlando Horton Jr 5’6 PG • 2023 • Clear Falls HS
Quick point with big time offensive IQ. Always looking to find his teammates as he creates for them. He can create for himself as well. Quick hands when guarding the ball with quick reaction time on the help side defensively. Even though he has a smaller frame don’t overlook this prospect. He should provide great energy and team morale early at Clear Falls.
Marcus Millender 5’8 PG • 2033 • Westbury Christian
A young point who checks a lot of boxes early. Also known as “Smurf” is a two sport stud. He just ran a 4.5 40 yard dash. High IQ with crazy ball speed and a tight handle as if the ball is on a string. Has good hang-time also which allows him to adjust in mid-air for acrobatic finishes. Pick and roll maestro. Plays heads up basketball on both sides of the ball.
Jaydon Nunn 5’9 PG • 2023 • Cypress Springs
Jaydon is a Scoring Point. Has great speed and can score with the best of them. Has big-time confidence when he’s on the court, and rightfully so with how his game matches his personality. I look for him to make a splash his freshman year on Varsity for the Panthers. His quickness makes him a tough assignment.
Jaylen Benard 5’11 PG • 2023 • Cypress Ranch
This prospect is a point that has defensive specialist abilities. Good lock-down defender who has quick hands and great timing for blocking shots despite his opponents size. Quick with the ball in his hands as well. Finished well around the rim, and will score in bunches very quickly. Has a decent outside game and has the ability to control the offense.
Corey Kelley 6’3 F • 2023 • Clear Falls HS
Corey is a physical forward that throws his opponents around on the glass. I don’t like comparing players to current and former NBA players, but his game reminds me of a young Anthony Mason. Solid in the post and can shoot the mid-range jumper. He even knocked down some corner trey balls as well. Has good athletic abilities as he had multiple dunks in various games. Another prospect that i’m looking forward to watching these next four years.
