Continue Reading2021 guard Po’Boigh King is a name to know in the HoopState. King was one of the top performers at the BigShots Carolina event this past weekend in Rocky Mount while playing with the RDC Lakers.
He showed off his abilities in a variety of ways while producing 28.5 points per game and making 11 3-pointers on the weekend. King’s best game came against the JBA Gladiators, as he paced his squad by scoring 36 of their 67 points, though it came in a loss. King made five 3-pointers and was virtually unstoppable all game long for his RDC Lakers squad.
So far, he’s heard from North Carolina A&T and East Carolina in terms of interest but expect that list to grow a whole lot more after showing off what he could do with the ball in his hands.
He’s way more than a scorer. He can distribute the basketball off the wing to the likes of guard Collin O’Sullivan and Braeden Miller and is a handful on the fastbreak with his quickness and athleticism.
One player King models his game after is Carmelo Anthony. While he can score like Melo, there’s a whole lot more to his game as he made a number of big blocks on defense and had some big dunks on the other end on offense. Keep an eye out for the name Po’Boigh King as he’s one of the sleepers in the state of North Carolina.
