Eastern Guilford Guard Dylan Spencer: Plays the game on his toes, and is what we call a ‘‘reaction’’ type of player as he seems to be able to react quickly to whatever his opponent does. As the day went on he seemed to become more comfortable and helped to make more plays for his squad.
Atkins HS Guard Arrington Jones: This young man is a hooper! It seems like he loves to play the game and has played so much that he has a natural response to the various types of ways he can be defended. He has some scrappiness to him as well as a bit of flair to his game that you have to like, decent size for a guard at about 6’0.
West Forsyth HS Guard Jay Mitchell: As soon as the day started, he showed he has the ability to not only make plays above the rim but also the ability to score from midrange and deep. D2 programs should be reaching out already as we feel that could be a level where he can thrive, once he sees a few buckets go in he can fill up the scoring stat line in a hurry.
Winston Salem Prep Guard Stephen Minor: It’s always nice to see a player that wants to play the game the right way even when it’s in a camp setting. That was the exact case for Minor as he looked to get his teammates involved and played outstanding defense throughout the day. Don’t be confused, he has some offensive firepower in his game and we saw some flashes as he blew by defenders and knocked down three point shots.
Calvary Day Wing Jack Hooten: Nice overall prospect for the shooting guard/small forward spot as he is about 6’6 with the ability to knock down shots. He moves well without the ball which is something you always like from a player that can shoot it well as it makes his defender work hard to contain him. Look for him to have some standout games next season at Calvary Day as they will be losing a high amount of scoring due to graduation.
Mount Tabor HS Jordan Hunter: One of the better defenders that we saw throughout the day, it was almost as if he had put in his mind that he was going to lock down every player he matched up with. He has good lateral quickness and quick hands which helps him to be a disruptive defender without picking up many fouls.
