Arterio Morris – Shooting Guard – Dallas Showtyme 15U – 2022
Morris will be a new name within the updated Prep Hoops Texas 25. The 6-foot-3 guard is a fluid athlete who looks every bit of the part when going downhill. He gets wherever he wants with his nice handle and frees up his teammates in the process. His perimeter jumper needs some work, but he is a tough matchup to stay in front of and a comfortable finisher through traffic. Morris has a chance of becoming a nationally graded prospect over the next couple of years.
Ronald Holmes – Shooting Guard – Beast Elite – 2021
Holmes is an athletic two guard who excels in transition. Throughout the weekend, he wreaked havoc in the open floor and initiated contact when exploding to the basket. Holmes also is one who needs to fix his shot mechanics to have the same effect in the halfcourt that he does in the open floor. However, it is pretty noteworthy that without a consistent jumper, the 6-foot-3 guard is still managing to put out multiple 20-point game performances on the scoresheet.
Jaylon Tyson – Shooting Guard – Method Academy – 2021
I loved the attainable upside within Tyson’s game. The lengthy swingman shoots it with size and has a nice handle on the rock to where he even initiates the offense for his team at times. Outside of his perimeter game, Tyson also does not mind playing physical and hitting the glass. He looked to rebound outside of his area and lead the break when there were available openings. As his game matures, he will become aware of how to use his dribble to get by people and learn to cover more ground defensively. Oral Roberts has not wasted any time on Tyson, offering the wing back in March.
Rytis Petraitis – Shooting Guard – Texas Impact 4:13 16U – 2021
After a successful high school season shooting the basketball, Petraitis has carried on that same momentum to the summer circuit. When his feet are set, he is virtually automatic out to 23 feet. The 6-foot-2 guard shoots the rock with range and a tremendous amount of confidence. As he is for his high school team, look for Petraitis to be the go-to/feature guy for his grassroots squad throughout the rest of summer.
