Continue ReadingUnsigned Seniors were out in full force last weekend and there were plenty that proved they can play in college at various levels. Schools at the JUCO level especially should be reaching out to these players as many simply need an extra year of development and exposure to lock down a decent offer from a four year program.
Fayetteville Spurs 2019 Guard Terrance Ellis Jr: He played his high school ball at Jack Britt HS under Coach Ike Walker so we know that he definitely has the ability to be coached. He’s a player that can be a very good defender when he puts his mind to it, offensively he knocked down some outside shots.
Fayetteville Spurs 2019 Wing Trevon Bell: The 6’4 wing has continued to improve and is an unsigned that could very well get scooped up by a D2 program or a legit JC that could help boost his recruitment. He’s athletic, can score the ball in multiple ways and defends multiple positions fairly well, nice overall prospect.
305 Elite 2019 Forward Lance Patterson: Good size and strength in this prospect, can play inside the paint as well as outside on the perimeter as he is about 6’6. He has double/double type potential as he scored and rebounded the ball at a pretty high rate, he doesn’t take too many plays off and is a physical defender.
305 Elite 2019 Guard Javon Laidler: Hands down, he was one of the best scorers that stepped in the building this weekend. He can score from all levels, is a crafty finisher and doesn’t need much space or excessive dribbling to get his shot off. Colleges that are looking for a player that can score the ball at an extremely high level should make sure to give him a call.
Flight 22 Premier 2019 Forward Jermaine Vereen: You won’t find too many players that play the game harder than he does. Shot blocking and rebounding are well he excels the most at this point but his offensive game is not too shabby as he can shoot the midrange shot and finish well inside.
No Guts No Glory 2019 PG Sam Benton: This wasn’t our first time seeing Sam, as we got the chance to see him at NC Wesleyan Elite Camp and over the years at Rocky Mount Prep. Don’t let the 5’9 height fool you, this young man can flat out play and put up big time numbers all season long. Although he score the ball at a high level he knows how to run a squad and get others involved, we saw quite a few plays where he broke down defenders and made the correct play to teammates.
