Here are a list of Cincinnati seniors who could help a program next season on and off the court. Starting with the backcourt performers here is our list of the top unsigned ranked players in the 513.
D’Arris Dean- 5’11/Aiken High School/PHO #127- Named 1st team all-district and state D-II, Dean proved this past season he was one of the best guards in Ohio. Armed with a tight handle and unlimited range, he averaged over 21 points and 3 assist per game on the season while leading the Falcons to a share of the CMAC title along with a district title. D’Arris currently has interest from Kentucky St., Morris College (SC) and a host of other programs.
Alex Dotson-6’4/Purcell Marian/PHO #92- After being hampered with a shoulder injury his junior year, the Cavaliers point man came back in a major way for his final campaign. D-III 2nd team all-state, 1st team D-III all-district and 1st team all-league are among the honors that Alex has received so far this off-season. With the size and versatility to play both back court positions and an excellent feel for the game, Dotson would be a steal for a program at the D-II level.
Nick Haddad-5’8/Turpin/PHO #153- While he may lack the size that others on this list have, but that does not take away from the point that this young man can flat out play. The Eastern Cincinnati Conference POY, Haddad finished 1st in the conference in scoring (17.2) and 3rd in assist (3.0) with a shooting split of 44/40/85. Like the before mentioned Dean, Nick has unlimited range with the ability to penetrate the paint and make plays.
Brice Hill-6’5/Seven Hills/PHO #89- A two-time Miami Valley Conference POY, Hill has been one of the most consistent scorers in Cincinnati for the past three seasons. Brice can really shoot the basketball, rather it is off the dribble or in catch and shoot situations. But his real improvement has come making plays off the dribble and finishing in the paint taking contact.
D’Marco Howard-6’2/Hamilton/PHO #97- A three-time all-conference performer in the talented Greater Miami Conference, Howard might be the most athletic guard on this list. He attacks the paint with reckless abandon and is not afraid of contact. It also helps that shoot over 80% from the free throw line this past season. And what next level coaches will like most is the effort D’Marco gives on the defensive end as well as on the boards. He has received attention from the JUCO level, most recently from Schoolcraft in Michigan. Also could be a good fit for prep school as well.
Landen Long-6’1/Mason/PHO #111- One of the best shooters in the state, Long had a shooting split of 46/40/82 this past season while averaging 18ppg. Solid all-around guard who uses screens well to create for himself and others.
Dionte McBride-6’3/Woodward/PHO #100- While the Bulldogs may not of had a season up to normal Bulldog standards, McBride was the lone bright spot this season. The senior guard led the CMAC in scoring at over 27ppg and had two 40-point and nine 30-point scoring games on the season. At his best attacking the paint and finishing in transition, word in the Cincinnati basketball community is that Sinclair has extended an offer to Dionte along with interest from other area JUCO.
Greg Phelia-6’3/Walnut Hills/PHO #179- After three years at Roger Bacon, Phelia came to Walnut for his senior season and showed a completely refined game and body. The added muscle Greg packed on with the Eagles helped him finish through contact at the rim and keep opposing defenders off balance. In his lone season under Coach Ricardo Hill Phelia averaged over 15ppg and was named 1st team all ECC.
Rodney Wiley-6’1/Colerain/PHO #164- Wiley took a major step between his junior and senior season, with his scoring average jumping from 8.6 to 19.1ppg per the GMC website. Rodney is lightning quick with the basketball in his hands and is a knock down shooter from 12-18 feet. Smaller regional programs should be all over this young man.
