Nygell Verdier (2020) – 6’5 Independence HS
Verdier is a versatile player with the ability to slash to the cup or knockdown a mid-range jumper. Verdier at times today tended to settle for some shots. Verider was extremely active in the passing lanes with several deflections on the day. Verider played last season at Charlotte Secondary before landing at Independence HS.
Anthony Allen
Anthony Allen (2020) – 5’11 Independence HS
Allen a coach’s son is a undersized shooting guard. Allen averaged 8.7 ppg this season for the Patriots. Allen shot 34% (69-202) from three point range this season. Allen was afraid to sacrifice his body by taking a few charges on the defensive end. Allen has a nice shot release and has range out to 25 feet on the floor.
Omarion Bodrick (2021) – 6’6 Independence HS (pictured on front)
Bodrick a left-handed small forward has a good skill set. Bodrick plays with a good upside and tends to glide over the floor at times. Bodrick played more aggressive while the game went on and seemed to be more of a factor down the stretch, Bodrick averaged 4.3 ppg and 4.1 rebounds this past season for the Patriots. Look for those numbers to climb next season with the graduation of several players.
Divine Allah
Divine Allah (2021) – 5’11 Independence HS
Allah a point guard is quite shifty with the ball in his hands Allah is tough to stay in front of the floor. Allah split defenders by getting into the gaps and drawing contact at times today. Allah at times got a bit too fancy with the ball
DTA Elite plays several different tourneys this spring and summer. Prep Hoops will more than likely seem them down the road again sometime this spring.
