He scored the ball at a very high level, has good ballhandling skills and is what we would call a crafty player as he find ways to get where he wants regardless of defense.
Grace Christian Senior Guard Evan Cheek: He’s a slashing type guard as he understands how to get into the paint and be very productive. He has good upper body strength and we saw time and time again his ability to be able to embrace contact and finish plays, we also got the chance to see him play some PG and show the ability to make some good decision using his basketball IQ.
Southeast Raleigh Senior Guard Jaylen Neal: One of the players that didn’t have a ton of buzz to his name prior to camp but we feel like he definitely helped to raise his stock. He has the ability to score the ball, is athletic, and doesn’t try to do things that our outside of his comfort zone. You won’t see a bunch of talking from him, he is a player that lets his play talk and is very coachable, recently was informed that a D2 program has reached out.
Word of God Christian Senior Guard Tim Pettiford: His game doesn’t feature a ton of flair and he has a pretty laid back demeanor but throughout the day he made his fair share of plays. At this point some D3 and JC programs have been showing interest, he can defend at a nice level and will be a solid pickup for a program on the appropriate level next year.
Liberty Christian Sophomore Guard Daymon Beckwith: One of the youngest players in the building but also was one of the top performers. He scored the ball at a very high rate and in various ways, jumpshots, floaters, just about any type of shot you can think of he used against defenders, he has solidified himself as a player that can be a D1 prospect without a doubt.
Pender HS Senior Guard Chance Poole: He was a late addition as one player that was supposed to attend did not show u. He took advantage of the opportunity and played well when he got the chance, he understands how to run a team and is always looking to get other involved.
Cape Fear Christian Senior Guard EJ Bethea: His senior season was filled with him getting buckets at a high level and this weekend was no different. He stayed aggressive attacking defenders to get to the cup as well as knocking down shots at a high rate from deep. A lot to like about his game and the potential he has to be an effective player on the next level, will be playing as an unsigned senior this summer.
