At Prep Hoops, we provide coverage for all levels of players from D1-Juco. With the final club season coming up for the class of 2020, it is an appropriate time to mention some talented players that college coaches should also be keeping an eye on, outside of the obvious top 5-6 players in the class.
2020 Players to keep an eye on:
2020 6’3 G Mutdung Bol, Northwest Coastal (Edmonds-Woodway HS) – A wiry scorer with an explosive first step and knack for scoring. He is capable of scoring on all three levels with a quick release on his jumper. He burst onto the scene last summer, torching the nets all throughout the pacific northwest. Portland State and EWU have already offered the junior and he may add to that list with another strong spring and summer.
2020 5’10 PG Maui Sze, WA Supreme (Roosevelt HS) – Maui makes the switch over the WA Supreme for his final season of club ball. The super shooter was outstanding running the point guard for Roosevelt this winter and he took his leadership and play-making ability to another level. He will look to continue to do the same on the UA circuit this spring and summer.
2020 6’10 C Kaleb Licahu, WA Supreme (Peninsula HS) – Kaleb’s progression has been a step by step process, as you’d expect from a big man growing into his body. The potential is there for this young man and he was a steady producer for Peninsula this season. He provides a shot blocking presence and he finishes inside. His passing and unselfish play from the post position is impressive as well. As he continues to add on strength, it will take his game to another level. Do not be surprised to see Kaleb really break out in time!
2020 6’5 SF Jared Franklin, FOH Seattle (Curtis HS) – I had the opportunity of watching Jared play multiple times this high school season and the one consistency was all out effort. He does not back down from any challenge and he has the athleticism to go dunk on taller opponents when he has some momentum. Jared has a solid feel for the game and he plays with a chip on his shoulder. He will gain some attention from colleges this club season due to his motor and athleticism. *Feature picture
2020 6’9 C Will Abram, FOH Seattle (Arlington HS) – Another big body that has been a step by step progression. Will has some natural ability and has gotten better every year since the 8th grade. He is a natural shot blocker and a true defensive presence. His finishing around the rim is improving and his Friends of Hoop club coach, Tom Eggers, is excited about his progress. Colleges are always looking for size and Will can provide that.
