Continue ReadingAnthony Brown was a monster for Midfield this season. The 6’6 forward used a big AAU season to propel his senior season. Brown worked hard in the off season to improve his ball skill and it showed throughout the year. This kid is a high motor competitor, and he is extremely hard to keep off the glass. Brown finished with 24 double doubles on the season. He had a high FGM percentage (58). He snagged almost 8 offensive rebounds per game, and Anthony valued the basketball (1.6 turnovers per game). Offensively, Anthony averaged 18.9 points, 15.8 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. Defensively, he chipped in 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.
Strengths
Work horse. Leader. Hard to keep off the glass. Excellent offensive rebounder. Gets to the FT line. Great finisher. Comfortable from 18 feet and in. Can attack off the bounce. Low turnover percentage. High FGM percentage. Has a mixture of post moves. Good vision out of the post-mid post area. Active defender. Potential to play both forward spots. Multi-position defender.
Weaknesses
Not an explosive athlete. Needs to improve 3 point consistency (23%). Needs to improve at the FT line (43%). Needs to become more polished to play on the perimeter full time. Has a tendency to be over aggressive and pick up cheap fouls.
Overview
Brown is a work horse and competitor. He does whatever is asked of him. Right now, Brown is more comfortable playing the 4, but if he becomes more polished he could play on the perimeter. He’s extremely active on the glass. Anthony stays in attack mode and brings a lot of intangibles to the table. D2, JUCO, NAIA Recruit.
