Finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks, it was one of the better performances I have seen from Williams and was really impressed with his improved motor. We talked to him after about the win.
“It was just a tough game, we had to grind it out, it was kind of ugly but we had to do what we had to do in order to get a win.”
He was going up against another nationally ranked big man and good friend, 2021 Efton Reid, “Yea it was a battle, the refs let us play a little bit so it was really physical down there but you know, what else could it be? It was just an overall battle.”
On Saturday night Williams will have the chance to lead NA to the TCIS championship for the second year in a row, “It means a lot, we just want to finish the deal, we have to win won more and it is going to be another battle.”
A number of high major schools are keeping close tabs on the junior and he has set up one official visit to Stanford that he is going to take next week, “They just keep talking about their balance between academics and athletics. I am going March 3rd, it is going to be an official visit so I am excited.”
When asked what other schools he is hearing from on a consistent basis, he said, “Louisville, Ohio State, Georgetown, Virginia Tech and NC State.”
He was able to talk to us about a few of those schools with us.
Louisville: “They are a pretty good team, they always talk about how they have a new staff and how they are bringing in a lot of good recruits and stuff.”
Georgetown: “Coach Ewing really talks to me about how he can develop me and stuff, he knows how to work with players like me.”
NC State: “They are another great ACC school, they are overall a great program and I like the pitch they have for me.”
