Prep Hoops All-OCC Central Team:
Photo Credit: DispatchDominiq Penn (6’1 / PG 2020 / Dublin Coffman): Dominiq Penn’s Junior season did not disappoint one bit. The future D1 player was one of the better scoring guards, all year long. Going for 19.9 points a game, Penn beat defenses in multiple ways. An athletic hooper, Penn can blow by you, pull up, or catch and shoot with the best of them. Going over the 20 point marker nine times, including 38 points in a blowout win over Westerville North. Dom Penn will only get better, which isn’t a good thing for schools not named Dublin Coffman.
Max Martz (6’6 / WF 2019 / Upper Arlington): Max Martz, another Central Ohio player that is D1 bound. The Golden Bear stand-our hooper has been successful over his high school career, including his Senior year. Putting up 20.1 points a game, as he led the conference in scoring, a nice accolade for the Penn bound player. Martz missed some time this year due to injury, but has put up the numbers when he’s been on court. A 43-point triumph against Westland proved that Martz can really fill it up. One of the better players in the area overall.
Luke Bartemes (6’4 / WF 2019 / Dublin Coffman): A big reason that Dublin Coffman was just a 1-loss team, goes by the name of Luke Bartemes. The future D3 hooper, should really excel at that level. A bigger built lefty that let’s it fly from deep with no remorse, and can fill it up at times. Averaging over 15 points per contest on his Senior campaign, the lefty was the second leading scorer on the big time Rock team. One of the best players in the league, should be key for a tournament run by Coffman.
Bodie Eberhart (6’3 / WG 2019 / Marysville): Marysville had a down year this year in a tough conference. But, nonetheless, they had a legit hooper in Bodie Eberhart. The Senior was everything for this Monarchs squad. Eberhart averaged over 16 points a game for Marysville, to lead the way. However, the stud guard was a force, compacting seven games of 20 or more points. A nice accolade for a player on his way out!
Jake Warinner (6’3 / WG 2020 / Upper Arlington): Jake Warinner is the other part of that nice two-headed monster for Upper Arlington. A capable scorer, Warinner put up almost 15 points a night for the Golden Bears. The Junior was big in stretches when the team battled injuries. Nailing 12 double-digit scoring games, Jake was consistent for Upper Arlington all year. A player that should definitely expand his game a bit more his Senior season, when he may be the go to guy. However, another solid accolade for the Junior.
