Although several of these names may not be well known, there is still plenty of talent here. Below is our All Conference teams in the GWOC West.
1st Team
Corey Hartman (2019)- Miamisburg- 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
The Vikings point guard stepped up in a big way this season and earned the Player of the Year honors in what ended up being a tight race in the GWOC West. A gamechanger in the backcourt, Hartman still has a chance of being a collegiate basketball player next season.
Zach Huffman (2019)- Lebanon- 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists
Huffman was a big low post threat for the Warriors. He uses his body well in the paint and has good footwork on the offensive end.
Duncan Hall (2019)- Miamisburg- 12points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks
After a breakout sophomore year, Hall took a step back last season, but reemerged this year as one of the best low post threats and rebounders in Dayton. He is a Louisville baseball commit.
Garrett Powell (2019)- Springboro- 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists
Powell was one of two low post threats for a Panthers team that struggled throughout the season. He is a physical forward able to defend 3-5. The 6’7 forward has offers from several schools including Christian Brothers and Thomas More.
Danny Lewis (2019)- Northmont- 18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists
A two sport star, Lewis is already committed to Marian University for football. He uses his athleticism on-the-ball and is one of the top defenders in the GWOC.
2nd Team
Brett Hensley (2019)- Miamisburg- 13 points, 3 rebounds, assists
A sharpshooter for the Vikings, Hensley provided Miamisburg with a consistent outside shooting threat. Led the team in scoring this season.
Prophet Johnson (2021)- Northmont- 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists
One of two underclassmen on the All Conference team, Johnson is a great defender that reads passing lanes well. He looks to attack off the dribble and is able to create mismatches with his athleticism.
Michael Berner (2019)- Springboro- 11 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks
The second name in Springboro’s frontcourt, Berner has the potential to record a double-double any night. A big Power Forward/Center, Michael should still be on a few D3 radars.
Connor Grevey (2019)- Springboro- 10 points, 4 rebounds, 39% 3PT
Springboro’s outside shooting threat, Grevey excelled in catch-and-shoot situations. An underrated guard, Grevey at times was lost in the crowd with the talent in the Panthers frontcourt, but he still made his presence known.
Patrick Ivory (2021)- Northmont- 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist
Another underclassman on the All Conference team, Ivory is a Small Forward with athleticism. Has time to continue to improve and be key component for the Bolts in the future.
