All-Prep Hoops Team: Central Ohio D1 –
Ben Roderick (6’5 / W 2019 / Olentangy Liberty): Ben Roderick has basically dominated his opposition this season. Coming off a big injury, the Senior has came back even better. Putting up 28 PPG, Roderick puts on a show every night they play. A 51 point outing on his resume this year, which is Central Ohio’s top performance. As well as being a two-way player this year, Roderick has been the best basketball player in Central Ohio. Leading Olentangy Liberty to a 17-4 record, and a solid seed in the tourney. An easy pick for Prep Hoops All Central-Ohio D1 Team.
Von Cameron-Davis (6’5 / WF 2020 / Walnut Ridge): Von Cameron-Davis has been on a mission this year. The second leading scorer in the area at 27.6 PPG, has been terrorizing opposing defenses inside. With seven games over 30 points scored, Davis has proven to be big time on the court. A player that does most of his damage inside, a double-double threat every game. However, averaging around 12 rebounds a game, the Junior won’t be out rebounded often. Also, Walnut Ridge is 16-4, one of the better teams around.
Jack Sawyer (6’5 / WF 2021 / Pickerington North): Jack Sawyer is one of the best athletes in the whole country. The five star Ohio State football commit, is also a stud player on the hardwood. The Sophomore has scored more than 20 points on 10 different occasions this season. But, one of the most physically imposing players in Central Ohio, is already the best player for a good Pick North team.
Dominiq Penn (6’1 / G 2020 / Dublin Coffman): Dublin Coffman is the only team in Central Ohio still undefeated. But, a lot of that has to do with their lead guard, Dominiq Penn. The Junior is putting up 20.2 points per game, one of the top scoring guards in the area. However, able to beat you in multiple ways, Penn can score in about every way. Also, a solid creator for his team, and quick in the passing lanes all year. Having seven games of scoring 25 or more points, the Coffman Rock has proven to be big time. A threat to torch an opposing team on any given night, also, a player you have to plan for. But, another no-brainer pick.
Javohn Garcia (6’3 / G 2019 / Pickerington Central): Pick Central was able to rebound from when North Carolina commit Jeremiah Francis went down, as Javohn Garcia picked up the guard production. However, the future D1 player is the best player on a loaded Central team, that has only lost one game all year. Averaging a bit over 20 PPG, Garcia is a tough scoring guard. Also, six games of 25 or more points, and a high of 34, shows the damage he can do. But, whatever college gets his commitment, will get a flat out gamer.
