They consistently turned over their opponent and took it the other way for scores. In the second half things turned around. Mundelein started playing with more poise and getting the ball in the paint to top 15 sophomore Scotty Ebube. He scored the game tying bucket to send the game to OT and they won in the extra session 72-68. Mundelein came back from down 19 points during the game to win. Here are the Most Intriguing Prospects: Mundelein vs Warren.
PG Conor Enright (Mundelein – 2021)
Enright is one of the better lead guards in the sophomore class. He is a plus shooter from deep with range to well beyond the three point arc. Did just that to open draining a pair of super deep threes. He is a crisp passer that overall makes sound passes. Quick decisions as the rock isn’t in his hands long as he is always moving it on to his teammates for better passes. Had a few turnovers in the first half, but overall showed a good passing feel. Gritty defender that consistently got deflections or steals throughout the game often taking them the other way for scores. He had 14 points and 9 dimes.
PF Scottie Ebube (Mundelein – 2021)
Ebube is among the premier post prospects in the sophomore class. The 6’7” four man is a physical post that is powerful on the interior. He struggled early in the game mainly because he wasn’t getting a ton of touches or playing with energy. That changed in the second half. He was quick and assertive with his post touches and completely changed the game for his team. Played powerful through contact. Used right handed hook shots. Spin moves that he converted. Got on the offensive glass for put backs. When he plays with that kind of aggressiveness he can be a dominant force both scoring and on the glass. Ebube went for 21 points and 7 rebounds.
SG Jack Bikus (Mundelein – 2021)
Bikus is a two guard that is another solid sophomore contributor for this group. At 6’3” he has good size and is a catch and shoot threat from the perimeter knocking down a trio from deep. Quick and concise release. He had 11 points.
PG Sam Eddy (Mundelein – 2019)
Tiny 5’8” point guard that brought a spark to his team. The senior is a spot up shooter hitting a couple from deep. Also got to the line where he hit some key free throws. Had a sweet coast to coast drive en route to 11 points.
SG Andrew Gonzalez (Mundelein – 2019)
The 6’4” senior was quiet for most of the game, but made some clutch plays late to help his team get the win. Hit a pair of threes and had a big time put back for 9 points.
PG Tavion McCarthy (Warren – 2019)
McCarthy is a 5’9” point guard with an angular build and athleticism. The lefty stood out with his quickness and anticipation on the defensive end. He recorded a handful of steals that he took the other way for layups. Excels in transition. McCarthy had 18 points.
PF Adnan Sarancic (Warren – 2020)
This four man isn’t the most athletic, but produced with his spacing of the floor as he knocked down three triples. Area rebounder that ran the floor well. Went for 13 points.
PF Juan Delacruz (Warren – 2020)
Undersized 6’3” power forward who scored with toughness in the paint. Right handed hook shot. Sealed his man off. Skilled moves on the block. Efficient with touches. Scored 11 points.
PG Hunter Subry (Warren – 2020)
Another junior that left an impression for Warren. This small point guard is a tough and competitive guard that made a few nice passes inside. Got loose for layups sometimes off his own steals and hit a deep three for 10 points.
