T.J. Justus commits to Harding University
Today, 6-foot-5 senior T.J. Justus of Mansfield High School/3D Empire ended the recruiting process and committed to Harding University. Harding is a NCAA Division II private university located in Searcy, Arkansas. The university is a part of the Great American Conference. With Justus, The Bisons are getting a workhorse forward with a high basketball I.Q. He is not afraid to play physical and will stretch the floor with his spot-up shooting from deep.
“I just loved the gametime atmosphere and the people there seemed like great people,” said Justus on his decision to commit to Harding. “I loved the players and coaches and want to be around them for four more years. Also, it is close enough to visit home but far enough to be away from family.” Justus chose Harding University over East Central, Bethel, and multiple Division III schools.
The love of basketball runs in the family, as Justus’ father is the Women’s Associate Head Coach at UT-Arlington. That same love, passion, and knowledge for the game will help Justus succeed at the next level. Justus states, “I’m going to come in, compete, and work as hard as I can and do whatever I need to do as an individual and as a teammate to bring success to the program.” It is hard to think he will not be successful with that kind of mindset.
Final Thoughts
Justus plays on an underrated, but talented Mansfield squad. When speaking about his senior year goals, he states, “My only goal is to win as many games as possible. I don’t care how many points I score or any awards afterwards. I just want to experience playoffs and hopefully state.” Safe to say, Harding University is getting a talented prospect with a winning attitude.
