Veterans Day Preseason Showcase: Part 2
Pender HS 2020 Guard Jajuan Carr: He is a special talent without a doubt and MM programs should be all over him at this point. His ability to break down a defender and score at a high level were on full display during this matchup. In the first half he went for 17 Points and would finish the game with 26 points overall, look for him to have a big time season.
New Life Christian 2020 Wing Reggie Raynor: He still has some areas that he will need to improve as far as shot selection and so forth but overall he had a very good performance. He knocked down some shots from deep, got into the paint at a solid rate, and finished some plays above the rim. Nice amount of upside in this young man and D1 programs have already taken notice.
Wilson Prep 2019 Forward Righteous Tomlin: Did a nice job of crashing the boards, being active on both ends of the floor and making plays. He has nice athletic ability, solid size at about 6’4 and the strength to battle inside with players that may be taller than him.
New Life Christian 2020 Guard Dahaun Jones: Was automatic from midrange in the 2nd half of the game, he knocked down some shots that helped New Life in a nice way in the 2nd half. His speed is another attribute that you have to like, he can push the ball up the floor quickly and helps his team get easy transition buckets.
Wakefield HS 2019 Wing Trae Smith: Another player that has a physique that looks as if he could step on a college campus at any given moment. He got into the paint of the defense almost at will and is a player that you can simply give the ball to and tell him to get a bucket. Look for him to have a nice year and to see his recruitment pickup in a nice way.
Pender HS Guard Jay Hansley: One of the better rebounding guards that we saw on the day, Jay was all over the court making plays and impact. He kept plays alive on the offensive end, and was aggressive to attack the basket when the opportunity presented itself.
