Christ School Open Gym
Today I had the opportunity to take in the open gym session at Christ School in Asheville, North Carolina. The Greenies are coached by Jeff Depelteau, who is in his second season as head coach. For the most part, The Greenies return everyone from their roster last season minus top-25 national point guard Jalen Lecque who has transferred to Brewster Academy in Massachusetts.
Brandon StoneRecent La Salle commitment Brandon Stone, is playing football this season and sprained a bone in his foot and did not work out. Assistant Coach Kyle Murphy was on campus yesterday to see Stone.
2020 F Justice Ajogbor is a physical specimen, chiseled frame, soft touch around the rim, finishes so high above the rim, almost tears rim off with dunks. A no brainer for high-major schools.
Love the intensity Kojack Thompson plays with. Strong handle, good frame, quick in the open floor, tough, shoots it consistently. Low D1 and D2 schools need to take a look at the playmaker.
2021 big man Gabe Wiznitzer has transformed his body, footwork is getting better, running floor well, making mid-range jump shots. All of 6-foot-11. St. John’s, Iona and Marist have offered.
2020 guard Norance Berry tells me VCU, VT, Tennessee, Tulsa & Florida are the latest to reach out. Cleveland, TN native is a mid-match at the guard spot and shot is looking good.
Division 3 schools need to take a look at 2019 guard Brad Halvorsen. He is a killer shooter from outside and is a smart player with a high basketball IQ. His older brother Matt, is a sophomore at Western Carolina University.
Division II schools need to take a look at Trey Austin, a 6-foot-4 guard that can score from the wing and can put the ball on the floor to get to the rim. He is a long armed guard that is also a good defender.
