Louisiana Top 250 Camp: Top 2021 Performers pt. 2
Carlos Stewart 6’0 G Dunham
If there is one thing that you can say about Carlos Stewart, it’s that he can go get a bucket whenever he feels like. He has a super quick first step, and is really tough to stay in front of when he has the ball. He can score it on all 3 levels, and is a really good finisher around the rim, where he is able to use his long arms for nifty finishes around the defender.
J’Colby Roberson 5’10 G Lincoln Prep
This was my first time seeing Robertson, and I walked away much more impressed than I would have thought. He’s a really quick lead guard, who is able to get into the teeth of the defense with ease. He’s a really good penetrator, and he is simply tough to stay in front of. He was able to find teammates, and is going to be another talented option for Lincoln Prep to look to this year.
Kevin Carlton 5’9 G Archbishop Hannan
Carlton was another one that I really got to see for this first time during camp, and he was able to put on a show. There were stretches during one of the games that he was tasked to lead his team and orchestrate for his team every possession down the court, and he did a good job of it. He is able to take defenders off the bounce and got good shot after good shot to keep his team in the game in a tight one.
Rollin Belton 6’7 C Ruston
I knew coming into the day that Belton was a long, athletic center, but the thing that I was really surprised with was just how good his footwork is at such a young age. He had some really advanced post moves, and showed he had a solid set of counter moves when the defense saw his first moves a couple times. He is definitely one to keep an eye on out of North Louisiana over the next couple of years.
Claudell Harris 5’10 G
This is the 2nd straight year that Harris has come to the Top 250 camp, and you can really tell that he has put a lot of time into his craft. A year ago, he was really just a catch and shoot player, and while he is still a really good shooter, he showed an increased ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the defense off the bounce. He is a solid combo guard that is worth keeping an eye on to see how his game and his body continue to progress over the next few years.
