Oakland Elite 2021 Wins REACH July Tune-Up
RECAP
Oakland Elite 2021 is proving to be a force on the grassroots circuit in the spring and summer. At the REACH July Tune-Up, they looked to continue their run of success. They showed up to the event prepared and focused as they brought home the championship. Not only did they win, but they did so in dominating fashion. Oakland Elite went 5-0 on the weekend and DV45 was the only team that they were not able to reach the mercy rule against. Even in the championship game, they rolled to a 22 point win over Michigan Dynamite. This week, Oakland Elite 2021 will travel to Georgia for the Peach State Summer Showcase.

KEY PLAYERS
Trevor Smith
Smith contributed to the team’s success in multiple ways. He made high percentage plays by being unselfish and efficient offensively. Smith continued to be a top notch defender as he has since spring.
Brendan Sullivan
Sullivan was excellent for Oakland Elite all weekend. Offensively, he shot very well from the perimeter. Defensively, Sullivan provided a solid rim protector.
Blake Lund
Lund continued to play relatively mistake free basketball, especially on the defensive end. He was a strong on ball defender. Lund also shot the ball well from deep.
Will Smythe
Smythe shot the ball at a high percentage from the perimeter.
Jayden Nunn
Nunn continued to prove himself as a unique prospect. He is an excellent playmaker who can create his own looks at the bucket.
Brendan Sullivan, Blake Lund, Will Smythe, and Jayden Nunn all continue to prove themselves as prospects in the class of 2021. So far this spring and summer, each has shown the potential to play basketball at the next level.
