Big Shots CLT: Names to Know
WCBA 2019 Guard Phillip Burwell: Had a nice showing in their matchup with a very talented River City Reign squad. He finished with 17 points to lead his team in scoring and did a nice job of attacking the basket to not only score inside but to get to the line for free throws. Once he got to the line, he converted, solid overall showing for this youngster.
Team Felton 2020 Guard Ricky Council IV: Basketball runs in the family genes without a doubt, with an older brother playing basketball at the D1 level, he is already picking up offers of his own. The 6’5 SG can score the ball at a very high level and has outstanding athletic ability, App State is one of the schools that saw him this weekend and didn’t need to see much more.
River City Reign 2018 Guard Marcus Holman: I’m not really sure what his situation is as far as recruitment and college selection but one thing is for sure, he can flat out play the game. His ability to score the ball at a high level is what we noticed early, he can fill it up quickly once he gets it going but he wasn’t a selfish player. When teammates were open he found ways to get them the ball and made correct plays at a decent rate.
Big Shots Elite 2019 Guard Lloyd Pandi: Strong guard that is wired to score the ball, the combination of his strength and speed make him a difficult player to attempt to defend. He showed how well he could play in transition as well as in half court situations when the game slows down for him, solid player and prospect.
WCBA 2019 Guard Marcus Metcalf: You probably recognize his name from being on ESPN top plays a few weeks back when he threw down a monster jam. Although his athletic ability is very impressive, there is more to his game than athleticism, he does a solid job defending and has moments where he scores the ball at nice rate.
Team Loaded 804 VA 2019 Jamon Battle: They have him listed at 6’5 which is solid size for a SG at the next level. It’s no surprise that he has picked up D1 offers already and he did some things to help his stock over the weekend. His numbers weren’t necessarily jaw dropping but the impact he makes on the game was clear and colleges are interested without a doubt.
