All League Team: Greater Catholic League-South
We continue our look at all-conference performers today with one of the best leagues in Ohio, the GCL-South. And while this may be only a four- team conference, every year this league produces as many, if not more, college prospects than most. And this year and the next couple of years will not be any different.
First Team All-GCL
W/F- Jeremiah Davenport/Moeller High School***- Our pick for league POY, the Wright St. commit finished 2nd in the league in scoring (15.4ppg), rebounding (6.3) and blocks (1.2) and 3rd in field goal percentage (57%). One of the best all-around scorers in Ohio, Davenport was the player Coach Kremer leaned on most to take and hit big shots all season.
C- Jaxson Hayes/Moeller High School- The most dominant big man in Ohio, Hayes was an absolute menace in the paint. The league leader in blocks (4.5), rebounding (6.9) and field goal percentage (67%), Hayes was a highlight reel waiting to happen. Jaxson will give Longhorn fans a lot to be happy about over the next four years.
G/W- Alec Pfreim/Moeller High School- One of the true stat-sheet stuffers in the Cincinnati area, Alec had averages of 7.2ppg, 5.3 rebounds (3rd in GCL) and 4.1 assist per game (1st in GCL). Pfreim play has been a major boost to the Crusaders with the injury of West Virginia commit Miles McBride.
G- Chase Wolf/St. Xavier High School- Wolf came straight off the gridiron and made an immediate impact for the Bombers. He finished 6th in the league in scoring average at 11.1ppg and 3-point percentage (38.1). Chase will continue his athletic career at Wisconsin on the football field.
G- Riley Haubner/LaSalle High School- Don’t let the babyface fool you, this young man can score with the best of them. Haubner lead the GCL-South in scoring at 21.0ppg with a shooting split of 45/36/81. Riley currently has an offer from Christian Brothers University along with interest from Findlay and the D-III level according to WCPO.com.
G- Zach Harp/Elder High School- Zach finished his senior season as the 3rd leading scorer in the league at 14.2ppg while shooting 38% from three.
G- Isaiah Payton/Moeller High School- The Indiana Wesleyan commit is the 2nd leading assist man in the league at 3.1 per game. Payton also shot 50% from the floor and 76% from the line.
