Josiah Wallace to Eastern Illinois
Olney Central College point guard Josiah Wallace has committed to play at Eastern Illinois. The freshman point guard was a qualifier out of high school and confirmed that he has committed to play at EIU. He told us why they were his choice.
“They have been there recruiting me from the very beginning and we have built a very close relationship over the years.”
What stood out about their program?
“I really like the way they run their offense. I feel like my game is a perfect fit. Coach Spoon and Coach Chap have been there since day one of recruitment and have been honest with me and have been very approachable during the process.”
He told us what he feels he can bring to EIU.
“I feel like I can be a playmaker and get other guys involved and be a leader vocally and lead by example.”
Wallace is a very talented 6’4” point guard. He has a great feel for the game with his ability to dish it in the half court. Slick ball handler that sees the floor and when in the lane makes sick passes to teammates for assists. Sound mid-range jump shooter with potential to stretch it out to three as he has done this season. Through 20 games this year at OCC he is averaging 20.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.2 dimes per game while shooting 43% from three. Great pick up for EIU. He played his high school ball at Marshall.
