Cincinnati Section Predictions Pt. 2
It’s time to put the regular season records and performances to the side, because it’s playoff time in Ohio!! And when one look at the brackets in the Cincinnati area, you see the potential for some outstanding post-season matchups. We start our playoff outlook with previews and predictions of the sectional brackets.
Division III
Cinti Country Day vs. North College Hill- NCH is the best team in the city that no one is talking about. The Trojans have won 18 in a row, having not lost since December 8th. Their mix of veteran leaders and rising underclassmen will prove to be too much for CCD.
Prediction: NCH
Clark Montessori vs. Madeira- This would be a rematch of a January 6th meeting in which Madeira walked away with a 25-point victory. While probably not by the same margin, the duo of Kyle Johnson and Jack Cravaack will prove to be to much for the Cougars.
Prediction: Madeira
Deer Park vs. Clermont Northeastern- For many fans this could be the 1st time they get to see 2021 F Skyler Schmidt, considered by many to be the top freshmen prospect in the state. But he will need plenty of help to beat the 2nd ranked D-III team in the state.
Prediction: Deer Park
Purcell Marian vs. Seven Hills- The Cavaliers are one of the top defensive teams in Cincinnati, and with there depth should be able to wear down the Stingers.
Prediction: Purcell Marian
Division IV
Lockland vs. Gamble Montessori- These teams met on February 13th with Coach Allen’s Gator team walking away with a four-point victory. Gamble played a tough schedule all season for games like this, which is why I see them advancing on.
Prediction: Gamble
Oyler vs. New Miami- New Miami had a big advantage at the free-throw line in there 10-point victory over Oyler December 19th 37 attempts to 18 attempts. This is a very winnable game for the Mad Hatters if they can cut down on the Vikings attempts from the line.
Prediction: New Miami
