Village vs Trinity Rematch: 10 Best
There is no question about it, this game was one of the best games that I have personally seen this season. With numerous D1 players on the floor and two teams competing for the top spot in the conference it was easy to see why this was such an intense game. The squads went back and forth throughout the night and Trinity would eventually prevail with the win, 97-93.
Village Christian Junior Wing Khuath Gatkuoth: In the short amount of time that he’s been in the city, he has shown everyone that he not only is a talented player but also that he never backs down in any situation. In this matchup he was very effective scoring the ball finishing with 32 points and battle inside throughout the night for rebounds as well, he currently has offers from Campbell and UMass with interest from numerous other schools.
Trinity Christian Junior Wing Joey Baker: He started off slow with only 5 points in the 1st half but turned it up in the 2nd half scoring 24 points and finishing with 29 points overall. He has a silky smooth jump shot, but what you have to love about him is he plays the game under control and looks to get everybody on his squad going.
Village Christian Junior Guard Travion McCray: This is the type of game we have been waiting to see from him, he stepped up big time for his team in all aspects of the game. It didn’t matter if he was facilitating, scoring, or defending, he made the right plays at the right time. Overall he finished with 30 points on the night and caught the attention of the several D1 coaches that were in attendance.
Trinity Christian Junior Guard Audiese Toney: Audiese is one of the most versatile players in the state and that was on full display, just take a look at his numbers and you can see for yourself. He scored it well, finishing with 23 points which included some clutch rebounds, he was a beast on the boards with 13 rebounds and distributed the ball finishing with 4 assist. HM programs have been tracking and have stopped in to see him play as his stock continues to rise.
Trinity Christian Junior Forward Greg Gantt: Greg is a mixture of grit and finesse, he can be physical inside but also has the ability to step out and do some things on the perimeter. At 6’7 with this type of ability, it’s no wonder that HM programs are becoming more interested each and every day. He finished with 20 points, 8 Rebounds, & 7 Assist, and some high flying dunks to go along with his impressive numbers.
Village Christian Junior Guard Ahmad Baker: Ahmad is growing up right before our eyes, he was highly valuable to his squad and plays the game with a nice amount of energy and toughness. What really stood out was the way he defended and some of the difficult passes that he put on point for teammates.
Village Christian Sophomore Guard Jase Ford: He stepped up and knocked down some big time trey balls in the 4th quarter to help Village close the gap with less than a minute left. He doesn’t try to force plays and gets his shot off fairly quickly, finished with 11 points.
Village Christian Junior Forward Chris Dodoo: Chris started off the game very well, he finished inside below the rim and converted on some difficult layups. On the defensive end he showed his ability to be a paint protector with multiple blocked and challenged shots.
Trinity Christian Junior Guard Talton Jones: Normally he is known for his passing and defense but during this matchup he showed his ability to score the ball as well. In the 4th quarter with the game being very close, he went for 10 points and was aggressive attacking the basket
Trinity Christian Junior Guard KJ Marshall: KJ got Trinity going with his shooting from deep as he opened the game up with a trey ball in the 1st and 3rd quarter. He handled the ball quite often and didn’t turn it over very much while playing some solid defense throughout.
