Post Game Interview: Junub Char & Travion McCray
Q: You got a good win against a team that you all had previously lost to, how did you all take things from the previous matchup to play better today?
Travion: Just defensively we played a lot better, offensively we followed the coach game plan ,we stuck with it the whole game and it got us the win.
Junub: We focused in on rebounding and I felt like we did that well, offensively we moved it around and got it to the open man to get the best shot.
Q: You all haven’t played a ton of basketball together due to injuries and different issues, do you feel like over the last few weeks you guys have learned how to play together better?
Travion: Definitely, having him come back in during the middle of the season has been fun, we are looking now to just continue to play well together as the season goes on.
Junub: Off the court we try and stay around each other to build team chemistry and now its showing on the court, we are getting closer to the playoffs now so we just have to continue to get better.
Q: Last time they played Trinity Christian it was a really big time game and you were unable to play. Are you looking forward to possibly getting a chance to play Trinity again in the post season?
Junub: Yes , Definitely we are going to get our rematch.
Q: How has your experience at Village Christian been , being that it is the 1st year for both of you guys ?
Travion: It’s a lot smaller, I’m use to being around a lot more people but you just have to adapt to your surroundings. I’m enjoying it so far and I’m hoping to have a great two years here.
Junub: Where I’m from we didn’t have that much competition, when I came down here it was like everybody was good. So I’m just adapting to it and trying to be one of the best players to come out of a different state.
Q: How’s recruitment going for you all?
Travion: Mine has been picking up as of late, I have a couple coaches hitting me up. So I’m just trying to finish the season strong and pick up some scholarship offers.
Junub: I have a couple good looks but I’m just focused on the season and then the rewards can come along after.
Q: If there was a player in the NBA or College that you would compare your game to or a player that people say you play like, then who would it be?
Travion: I have some coaches compare me to Eric Bledsoe but I really like Colin Sexton game, so I’m trying to model my game after his.
Junub: One of my favorite players is Jamal Crawford , I look at his highlights all the time and try to copy his moves.
