Lecque Picking up Offers
After a strong performance at The Peachtree Corners Invitational at Norcross High School outside of Atlanta, Georgia, Patrick Ewing of Georgetown University offered 2019 PG Jalen Lecque of Christ School.
Jalen LecqueLecque is regarded as one of the top juniors in the country and has picked up offers from most of the programs in the country including ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big 10 and AAC programs. The Bronx, New York native is fitting in well with his new team down in the mountains of North Carolina.
Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning was also sitting in on Christ School’s game against Wheeler HS (Ga.), a game that Christ School won. Lecque had a triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the win.
He is an athletic point guard that can get up and down the floor with his speed, he is starting to find his shot from mid-range all the way out to the three-point line, he can dunk on anyone in the country with his 40 inch-plus vertical. Lecque is a strong defender with long arms and has the size, at 6-foot-4 to be a big-time College point guard. He is undervalued at the point guard spot with his ability to pass the ball and his rebounding ability. What he lacks in size against bigger post players, he makes up with his athletic ability.
Lecque and Christ School are poised for a deep run in the NCISAA playoffs. They are playing their best basketball of the year right now and are sure to get Christ School back to their glory days of the early 2000’s when they won six NCISAA state championships. This team is special and have knocked off some of the top teams in the country this season including host Norcross HS at The PrepHoops MLK Showcase in Greenville, South Carolina a week ago.
