Recruiting Report: Dylan Hillesheim (2018)
Cedar Mountain/Comfrey wing Dylan Hillesheim is a senior that has Cougar fans dreaming big. Dylan is hearing from three schools right now in the middle of his final high school year.
CMC has earned wins over Mankato Loyola, Sleepy Eye, and BOLD so far this year with a loss at top ranked Springfield.
“Well so far we’ve only played four games and we’re 3-1 but out of the four games we’ve all improved as a team and as individuals,” Dylan said. “I’ve improved on my shooting a lot, I’m more confident in my shot now than I have in the past years.”
Dylan scored 18 a game and grabbed six rebounds a contest as a junior and has upped his production so far as a senior. With Eli Samuelson and Wambde Diaz back along with Dylan expectations are high.
“Our outlook I think we’ll be the same as last years we might run into a few bumps here and there but I feel like if everyone does their job and if we work as a team we will come out to the top,’ Dylan said.
“Both individual and team goals are to go to state this year. We should’ve went last year but we lost in overtime in the subsection finals.”
The Cougars are in the toughest section in the state joining top five teams Cleveland, Mayer Lutheran, and Springfield all in the same section plus many talented others.
Dylan himself is a strong multi-sport athlete who is coming off a great football season and is now of course a key player on the basketball team.
“The colleges that have contacted me about sports are Gustavus, Bethany, and University of Northwestern,” Dylan said.
