Week 1 of November Class of 2020 Players to keep an eye on
Over the last week we have seen a ton of basketball, one thing that we have noticed is that although the 2020 Class may not be as deep as the 2019 class they have some very nice talent, here are some players that we saw that stood out:
Northwood Temple 2020 Forward Travon Jackson: He didn’t score the ball much but his activity on the glass and his high motor are both attributes that you love to see and that can help his squad this season. Although he may be undersized, he battles for rebounds against bigger opponents and used his athleticism to make plays at the rim.
Freedom Christian 2020 PG Jamael Carter: He provided a nice spark off the bench for his squad, he may not be the most athletic or fastest Guard but he has a very nice IQ and skillset. Made some good reads and scored the ball at a high percentage, finished with 11 Points & 4 Assist.
Freedom Christian 2020 Forward 6’8 Aymeric Toussaint: Another player from overseas that is still learning the American game and getting comfortable on the court, rebounds it, can step and knock down the deep ball, will get better as time goes on.
Terry Sanford HS 2020 Forward Yates Johnson: We got the chance to stop in and see Yates again when Terry Sanford HS participated in the DBHS jamboree. You have to love the skillset he brings at the wing spot to go along with his 6’5 height, he is still getting comfortable in his new role but in due time he will be a very nice overall player.
Hoke County HS 2020 Forward Angel Dean: Angel is a player that is still raw but the more he plays, the better he will become. He does things that you have to appreciate from a player such as: Rebounding, diving for loose balls, fighting for possessions and taking charges. Hoke County is loaded with talent but a player like him is someone that could truly make a difference without scoring.
